Shigenobu Nagamori, current Chairman of the board, President & CEO, established Nippon Densan Corporation (now Nidec Corporation) in Nishikyo-ku, Kyoto with a capital of 20 million yen.
August Started production and sales of small precision AC motors.
1974 October Opened a sales agent in the U.S.

1975 January Opened a sales agents in Asia and European countries.

Established a new plant (Kameoka Plant) in Kameoka-city, Kyoto.
April Launched full-scale production of brushless DC motors.

Nidec America Corp.
Nidec America Corp.
Established Nidec America Corp, a locally-incorporated company.
1978 November Established Nidec Torin Corp. jointly with Torin Corp., an American fan manufacturer, in order to make full-scale inroads into the fan and blower market.
