Nidec staff at the Research Laboratory and Technical Centers are engaged in motor R&D to benefit society.
Central Technical Laboratory
This is a specialized organization that supports the HDD spindle motor business, the core business behind our growth, and that exploits expansion of applied technologies of FDBs (Fluid Dynamic Bearings).
Nidec Research And Development Center
This laboratory has bases in Japan (Kawasaki City) and Taiwan to enhance and fortify our basic research activities as well as expand the field of applied studies.
Nagano Technical Center
Along with Central Technical Laboratory, this center is responsible for carrying out development of HDD spindle motors, one of our core products.
Shiga Technical Center
In the automotive motor field, the laboratory is functioning as the direction center of the In-vehicle Motor Business Unit that is responsible for research and development, product design, development of production technology, manufacturing of motors, and support of the plant during expansion.
Dalian Technical Center
While maintaining a close relationship with the Shiga Technical Center, the Center leads our efforts to develop new Chinese markets by maximizing its advantage of being near the production base
