2-2. Brushless DC Motor

The DC motor has a number of advantageous characteristics including small size and power, ability to begin rotating when simply connected to a DC power supply, ease of speed and positioning control, and so forth.

However, the use of brushes and a commutator create a number of disadvantages including increased wear and electrical noise, etc. Due to this, a brushless motor that has the advantages of a DC motor is required.
