The belt-driven constant coolant pump works on the principle of a rotary pump. By means of a rotating impeller, centrifugal force is used to transport liquids.
- The coolant, which enters the centrifugal pump axially, is forced outwards by the impeller on a circular path. The energy stored in the liquid increases the pressure in the pump and pushes the liquid in the volute and the connected components. The coolant flow rate is directly related to engine speed.
