The unique hybrid arc/laser welding head combines the advantages of both arc welding for build-up and laser welding for fast, low-distortion welding.

Fiber Laser Welding Heads

Features

Arc and laser welding—The best of both worlds in one machine

Arc welding and laser welding front

Our unique arc/laser coaxial technology makes it possible to combine the best of both worlds in a single machine, contributing to improved processing efficiency for our customers.

Since the arc melts the laser irradiation part, sufficient welding beads can be obtained even if there are some gaps, and the requirements for groove accuracy during welding can be relaxed.

Since the arc is concentrated on the keyhole formed by the laser and the heat input is large, welding can be performed with deeper penetration than when a laser is used alone.

Arc and laser coaxiality allows free directional build-up

The common method, in which the arc is supplied horizontally, only allows build-up in a certain direction.

However, because our welding head supplies the arc from the same central axis as the laser beam, it is possible to build-up a free 3D path independent of the arc supply direction.

All light sources use fiber lasers

Fiber lasers are used to solve the quality, speed, and cost problems associated with conventional welding technology.

Welding beads are smooth and cleandue to continuous irradiation from continuous oscillation.

Low blowhole generation and high resistance to leakage, even with butt welds.

The small spot size of the laser and the high concentration density of light result in less welding distortion.

Optional features such as process monitoring and seam tracking allow for accurate welding to match the welding conditions.
