Aug. 1922Brothers, Shusaku and Hichisaburo Takisawa, establish Takisawa Machine Tool in Osaka City as a private firm to manufacture and sell various machine tools such as drilling machines and lathes.
Mar. 1933The founding brothers establish the Tamashima Plant in their hometown, Tamashima-cho (now Tamashima, Kurashiki City), Okayama Prefecture.
Apr. 1935Establishes the Fuse Plant newly in Fuse City (now Higashi-Osaka City), Osaka Prefecture, and at the same time, moves the headquarters and reorganizes to a general partnership.
Mar. 1938Establishes the Wakae Plant in Wakae Village (now Higashi-Osaka City), Osaka Prefecture.
Oct. 1944Focuses the facilities on the Tamashima Plant, moves the headquarters and reorganizes to a corporation.
Apr. 1946Begins the manufacture and sales of various food equipment and industrial equipment as a piece industry conversion plant, as well as repair and reworking of machine tools.
Jun. 1950Restarts the manufacture of machine tools.
Sep. 1962Lists on the Second Section of Osaka Securities Exchange.
Feb. 1963Begins export of precision lathes to the U.S.A. in earnest.
May. 1963Lists on the Second Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Apr. 1964Establishes the Okayama Plant in Kibi-cho (now Natsukawa, Kita-ku, Okayama City), Okayama Prefecture.
Oct. 1966Moves the headquarters to the Okayama Plant.
Aug. 1968Begins the production of lathes with numerical control units.
Sep. 1971Establishes Taiwan Takisawa Machinery Co., Ltd. (now Taiwan Takisawa Technology Co., Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary) to manufacture and sell engine lathes in Taiwan.
Nov. 1971Establishes Takisawa Techno Service Inc. to sell machine tool parts and to provide servicing.
Aug. 1979Establishes local subsidiary TAKISAWA MACHINE TOOL USA, CORP. (later TAKISAWA U.S.A., INC.) to provide sales and services in the U.S.A.
Oct. 1981Begins production and sales of vertical machining centers in earnest.
Apr. 1983Establishes a headquarters building and FMS Plant on the headquarters plant site.
Jan. 1989Buys out ROCKWELL MACHINE TOOLS LTD. (later TAKISAWA U.K. LTD.) a United Kingdom trading company of machine tools.
May. 1991Establishes local subsidiary TAKISAWA BENELUX B.V. to provide sales and services in Holland.
Dec. 1991Establishes a technical center in the United Kingdom.
Mar. 1994Closes and sells the Tamashima Plant after consolidating it into the headquarters plant.
Feb. 1996Liquidates TAKISAWA BENELUX B.V.
Mar. 1997Transfers No. 3 plant and ancillary buildings to Takisawa Techno Service Inc. as well as transfer of part of production.
Sep. 2000Establishes TAKISAWA (THAILAND) CO., LTD. to provide sales support and service in Thailand.
Nov. 2002Local corporation, Shanghai Takisawa Mechatronics Ltd. (now Shanghai Takisawa Mechatronics Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary) is established in China aiming at manufacture through Takisawa Technology Investment Co., Ltd. by Taiwan Takisawa Technology Co., Ltd.
Feb. 2003Takes over and newly partitions Takisawa Techno Service Inc.
Mar. 2003Establishes local corporation TAKISAWA, INC. (consolidated subsidiary) to provide sales and services in the U.S.A. and liquidates TAKISAWA U.S.A., INC.
Apr. 2005Acquires 190 shares of stock of Cascade Inc.
Dec. 2005Assigns equity interest in Shanghai Takisawa Mechatronics Ltd. to Miyano Machinery Co., Ltd. and changes the company name to Shanghai Takisawa Miyano Machinery Co., Ltd. to be a joint venture.
Aug. 2008Establishes the R & D center on the headquarters plant site.
Mar. 2009Establishes the Parts Center on the headquarters plant site.
Apr. 2009Establishes local subsidiary TAKISAWA (SHANGHAI) CO., LTD. (consolidated subsidiary) to provide sales and services in China.

Jan. 2010Shanghai Takisawa Miyano Machinery Co., Ltd. (STM) dissolves the joint venture to Miyano Machinery Co., Ltd. (Miyano), by taking over all of the equity interest of STM owned by Miyano, and changes the company name to Shanghai Takisawa Mechatronics Ltd.
Feb. 2011Establishes local corporation PT. TAKISAWA INDONESIA to provide sales support and service in Indonesia.
Sep. 2011Sells all the stock of TAKISAWA U.K. LTD. (changed the company name to ROCKWELL MACHINE TOOLS LTD. on Jul. 22, 2011).
Dec. 2011Taiwan Takisawa Technology Co., Ltd. establishes No. 2 plant in Yangmei City, Taoyuan Hsien, Taiwan (now Yangmei District, Taoyuan City).
