Ｑ：Welcome to our factory and thank you for taking the time for this interview. Could you provide an overview of Metaplast's history, including the indus-tries they serve and their end users?
METAPLAST Since 1983, as Metaplast we have built a strong reputation in high-precision gear manufacturing - from prototyping to larger production volumes. We primar-ily serve the automotive industry, supplying vital components to leading car-makers worldwide. Beyond automotive, our expertise extends to electrical dis-tributors, mining operations, and utility companies, ensuring reliable power transmission across various sectors. Our commitment to quality and innovation has fueled our growth for over four decades, making us a trusted partner to di-verse industries and end users.
Ｑ：Would you please share how Metaplast met the Nidec Machine? Can you elaborate on this?
METAPLAST Our relationship with Nidec began when we acquired the first Nidec machine, a ZI20A for internal gear grinding. This machine has been instrumental in our prototyping and testing operations. Nidec's technology has seamlessly inte-grated into our daily operations, contributing to our ability to deliver precision gears of the highest quality.
Ｑ：You recently bought a gear shaping machine, the Nidec ST40A and you are here to accompany the run-off. Could you share the reasons behind Metaplast's selection of this specific machine and how the experience has been so far?
METAPLAST We've been familiar with the ST40A for quite some time and are impressed by its capabilities and features, seeing great potential for its fit within our opera-tions. Building on our recent successful experience with Nidec machines, we confidently invested in the ST40A.
We have had regular, open discussions with Nidec's gear machine design team, covering a wide range of topics, ideas, and needs.
We really appreciate how open-minded they are, which makes us excited about future innovations and collaborations.
So far, the machine has been performing even better than we hoped. It con-sistently delivers gear quality that's above and beyond our strict requirements. As with every machine run-off there are always some minor regulatory issues here and there and we're confident everything will be resolved through ongo-ing communication with the Nidec team. The machine is set to be delivered in the end of January 2024 and we are already excited.
Ｑ： With a keen eye on EU trends, how does Metaplast see the future land-scape, especially in automotive market in EU?
METAPLAST We've observed a growing trend within the EU, where OEMs and suppliers are increasingly seeking partners for the production of e-mobility components. This surge in demand is undeniably driving the market at present. However, we recognize that this trend is likely to evolve over the medium term. We anticipate the emergence of new trends, potentially with alternative energy vehicles gaining traction and surpassing pure electric vehicles in popularity.
