For equipment that should be replaced with a new unit as less frequently as possible, it is important to extend the life of cooling fans. Of course, motors that rotate fans must never stop, either. Brushless motors, which do not require mechanical contact during current switchover, successfully became free of electrode ablation – acritical problem with conventional brushed motors – and eliminated the needs for maintenance. Yet, that does not mean that there is a zero chance for equipment malfunction. We at Nidec aim to reduce load on motors to the absolute minimum.
